Our Mission

In the Ultrafast Laser Spectroscopy & Communication Laboratory we investigate the high-speed response of new lasers and materials, as well as passive and active optical systems using ultrashort laser pulses (<100fs).

Based on these results we look for new ways and possibilities to realize ultrahigh-speed communication networks in the visible and IR-spectrum with Terahertz bandwidth and above.

In addition to this, time-resolved Terahertz (THz) spectroscopy setup gives us the unique ability to measure optical as well as electrical properties in this ultrahigh-speed frequency region. Beside interesting and fascinating application, this new "frequency-world" offers unique control of the created light THz-light pulses, allowing free control and measurement of phase and amplitude at the same time.
